1. THE CAF IS COMMITTED TO UPHOLDING THE TIME-HONOURED ETHOS AND VALUES OF THE PROFESSION OF ARMS, TO RESPECT THE DIGNITY OF ALL INDIVIDUALS AND TO FOSTER A SAFE AND HEALTHY WORKPLACE. THE RCAF REPRESENTS A CROSS-SECTION OF CANADA'S DIVERSE POPULATION AND MUST REFLECT IDEALS AND CULTURAL NORMS OF CANADIAN SOCIETY. AS YOUR COMMANDER, I AM COMMITTED TO DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION. I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY ACTS, CONDUCT OR PERCEPTION OF DISCRIMINATION OR HARASSMENT BASED ON ONE OR MORE PROHIBITED GROUNDS OF DISCRIMINATION IAW THE CANADIAN HUMAN RIGHTS ACT. THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOUR IS UNACCEPTABLE AND WILL BRING DISCREDIT TO CAF MEMBERS, THE INSTITUTION AND TO CANADA. 2. THE FOLLOWING CAF-WIDE POLICY AND PROCEDURAL CHANGES HAVE BEEN INITIATED TO CLEARLY OUTLINE EXPECTATIONS AND NECESSARY ACTIONS FOR MISCONDUCT AND INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR IN ORDER TO ELIMINATE HATEFUL CONDUCT FROM OUR INSTITUTION:
A. DAOD 5019-0, CONDUCT AND PERFORMANCE DEFICIENCIES, HAS BEEN AMENDED TO INCLUDE THE DEFINITION OF HATEFUL CONDUCT;
B. CF MILITARY PERSONNEL INSTRUCTION 01/20, HATEFUL CONDUCT, OUTLINES HOW TO ADDRESS HATEFUL CONDUCT WITHIN THE CAF;
