Dear Shipmates,

With just a matter of weeks left in my command as the 34th leader of your Navy, I invite you to check out the last in the series of my command message videos, “Charlie 34 Part III”. This video highlights some of our latest exercises at sea, our exciting new Maritime Tactical Operations Group, and even gives you a sneak peek inside the Irving Shipyard at the construction of the first Harry DeWolf Class Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship.

While this six-minute video is a farewell message of sorts, even more than that, it showcases the bright future ahead for the RCN. It includes some amazing visuals of our fleet and our people, and in my opinion it shows a snapshot of what right looks like; a snapshot that was made possible because of what you all do each and every day.

So take a moment, kick back, and have a watch of this video. It is for you, and it is about you. I hope you are as proud of our collective accomplishments as I am, and I send my thanks for everything you have accomplished during the last three years. Serving with you has truly been an honour.

Yours aye,

Vice-Admiral Mark A.G. Norman
Commander Royal Canadian Navy
